The immigration of the Copts to Canada might have started as early as the late 1950s. Starting in the 1970s, Canada has been receiving a greater number of these immigrants, and the number of Coptic immigrants into Canada has been growing ever since. According to the census, there were over 10,000 Orthodox Copts in Canada by the year of 2001 — an increase from only 5,000 in 1991. With that calculated growth rate, this figure could now be as high as 25,000. [1] [2]

The story of the first Coptic Orthodox Church established in North America, St. Mark's in Toronto, Canada, can be found here. Now, there are more than 40 permanent priests, serving over 30 Coptic Orthodox Churches in Canada. [3]

The Coptic Orthodox Church has churches, congregations, and communities in the following regions (and elsewhere): [4] [5]
