Copper azide is very explosive and can be used in pyrotechnics.

Copper azide can be prepared from copper(II) nitrate (Cu(NO3)2) and sodium azide.

Since some of the precursors in copper azide are poisonous it would be advisable not to come into direct contact with it, or its precursors. Do not shake.
