Coppenhall High School was a small co-educational comprehensive school located in Crewe, Cheshire, England.
Coppenhall High opened its doors in 1978 after the amalgamation of two local schools; Brierley Street Boys and Brierley Street Girls. The first head teacher was Mrs. Maddock.
In 2006 it was announced that Coppenhall would amalgamate with local school, Victoria Technology Community School due to low enrollment rates in the Crewe and Nantwhich areas. The local council allowed the local community to pick the name of the new school. In 2007 the name was revealed as Sir William Stanier Community High School. The new headmaster of the school was announced as Mark Stanyer (the current headmaster at Victoria Technology Community School).
The opening of the SWS Community High School, to be built on the site of Coppenhall High School is planned for September 2009.
