Copella is a British fruit juice company based in Boxford, Suffolk. Founded by Devora Peake in 1930s she was inspired by her father's orange and almond groves in Israel.
The name Copella comes from the first letters of Cox's Orange Pippins, one of the main varieties of apples used in the juice, and the last part of Devora Peake's youngest daughter's name – CarmELLA.
The company sells 100% pure pressed apple juice and apple juice blends, including:
- Apple
- Apple & Elderflower
- Apple & Blackberry
- Apple & Blackcurrant
- Apple & Mango
- Apple & Raspberry
The company was bought by Tropicana in 1998; and as a result of Tropicana's purchase by Pepsico in 1999, Copella is now part of Pepsico.
The company now sources apples from around the world to meet product demand. The level and type of insecticide in the apples may now be questionable. The company now produces PJ Smoothies from their Suffolk site.
