Copa Interamericana
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Copa Interamericana (English: Interamerican Cup) was a football trophy contested between the champions of CONMEBOL's Copa Libertadores de América (South America) and the winners of CONCACAF's Champions' Cup (North America, Central America and the Caribbean). The competition was played irregularly, and has been discontinued since CONCACAF teams have started to take part in CONMEBOL competitions.

[edit] Los Angeles Cup
The Los Angeles Cup (Copa Los Angeles /Taça Pan-Americana) was a friendly competition that consisted of a single match and was held only once. Although some claim it was similar to the Copa Interamericana, América of Mexico was not the winner of CONCACAF Champions' Cup in 1983. The Los Angeles Cup was decided on December 13, 1983, in Los Angeles, United States. Grêmio of Brazil beat América of Mexico in the penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw, and won the tournament.
