Coombe Keynes

Coombe Keynes is a hamlet in the Purbeck district of the English county of Dorset. It is situated some five miles west-south-west of Wareham. The village has a population of 79 (2001); they occupy around 22 houses of which 10 are thatched.
Wool railway station is a mile from Coombe Keynes giving direct access for trains to London.

Legend has it that a house in Coombe Keynes, Dairy Cottage, is haunted by 3 witches. This house is spoken of as being the epi-center of vast ghost activities due to the story of a youg girl being murdered there in the 18th century, and since then being haunted by her ghost. It is said that any girl who steps foot in the house may be cursed for the duration of her stay, it is also said that the girls ghost may be seen by any girl who is in touch with spirits and has a free mind and soul.
