Coolaroo is a proposed railway station on the Craigieburn railway line in the Melbourne suburb of Coolaroo, Victoria. Although long proposed the station will be opened around two years after the extension of the electrification from Broadmeadows to Craigieburn.[2]
The station will feature:[2]
- a bus interchange
- car parking and 'kiss-and-ride' facilities
- island platform layout
- pedestrian overpass.
The State Government set aside $38 million for the construction of the station in the 2007-2008 budget,[2] an amount criticised by the Public Transport Users Association as excessive.[3] Completion is expected in 2010.[2]
