[edit] Coleytown Middle School
If you mean the various items of vandalism, the point-of-view commentary about other schools, and the other bits in there that turned the article from a neutral article into one that didn't fit the neutral point of view policies, you're welcome. It needed work, I stumbled over it and fit it into policy. (And I see I missed a bit of POV - good job catching it.) Tony Fox (speak) 18:28, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I did get the tongue-in-cheek thing. Basically, the deal here was that I caught some vandalism while I was doing recent changes patrol, and noticed a lot of other problems (things like the principal's name being Osama, slams against other schools, self-ingratiating comments about the school's atmosphere) that are unnecessary in Wikipedia articles. So, I did some editing. Feel free to do whatever you feel is appropriate with the article, of course. I just worked with what I had to make sure it fit the guidelines. Cheers. [edit] RE: Derogatory Article.
The article you made concerning Norwalk's education system is very derogatory and makes me feel very unfortunate indeed. What is your aim? Gentlyfloatingabout 19:28, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
- I found some facts and thought they should be on Wikipedia because they are important for anyone who wants to know something about that school system. I do that (put important information into Wikipedia articles) with positive and negative facts concerning anything. Are you saying it would be better for people not to know bad news? It's not my job to go out and find good information to balance the bad. If you feel badly that there's so much negative information there, you might want to look at the school system's Web site or at some other source of information and add to the article. In fact, I encourage you to go out and find anything worth including in that article, which is obviously a work in progress. Incidentally, I took that information from a news story that was on the front page, and I put some similar information into an article about Stamford. I think letting people know bad news is a step in prodding authorities to work harder on fixing problems. I appreciate your concern, and I welcome any worthwhile contributions you can make to the article.
Best wishes,

[edit] response
You're way too cynical. The whole purpose of these state and national tests is to prod local districts. Sunshine is healthy.Noroton 02:45, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
