[edit] Welcome!

Hello Conor moroney, welcome to Wikipedia!

Here are some tips:

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance. If you ever get bored, or don't know how to help, visit the ToDo List at Community Portal. There are millions of jobs to be done, article to be improved, written, deleted, images added or edited, and groups/clubs to join!

If you have any questions, or just want a chat, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing. —Vanderdeckenξφ 15:01, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "sprock"

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article "sprock", suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:"sprock". You may remove the {{dated prod}} template, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. —Vanderdeckenξφ 15:05, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Sandstein 23:08, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Also, please absolutely do not change other people's comments on articles for deletion discussions, as you did on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/"sprock". It's also useless (and disruptive) to post a bunch of pretend "KEEP" comments on an articles for deletion discussion page. This is an easily recognised attempt at sockpuppetry, which is forbidden. Thanks, Sandstein 23:14, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] December 2006

With regards to your comments on Talk:Coronation Street: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Gwernol 22:01, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Again, please read Wikipedia's policy on personal attacks. Your comments were unacceptable. If you are not able to remain civil and refrain from making personal attacks, please take your comments elsewhere. Wikipedia is a collaborative project and personal attacks damage the ability of editors to work together. Thanks for understanding, Gwernol 18:04, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] White Spherical Wicca

A tag has been placed on White Spherical Wicca, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

Please note that all Wikipedia content must be verifiable from reliable sources. It appears that none at all are available for this "virtually unknown" group, so its deletion is required. Fan-1967 17:22, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
