[edit] Usage Guidelines

If this useless template is to be kept, we need to have strong usage guidelines. I propose that the threshold should require a page to be more than 10% Japanese characters. --Kunzite 00:41, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

How would you define "10% Japanese characters"? Surely you don't mean one Japanese character per nine Roman characters, which would be an absurdly high threshold. I don't think much harm would result from having a simple "common sense" rule: don't use the template if your article has only a couple of characters here and there, but use it if it has a lot of them. Then we just need to get a couple of precedents for borderline cases. - furrykef (Talk at me) 01:47, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Placement - I have a quick question regarding the placement of this template, and it seems like it would fall under the usage. It seems to be that the general placement of this template is at the bottom of the page. Would it be better to place this at the top of an article in case some one sees the boxes/question marks and doesn't make it down to the bottom of the page? But at the same time, I could see how it might be an eyesore if placed improperly. Any thoughts? Also, on a side note, I think this a good template that could be very helpful if implemented properly. I agree that it should be used at the top of article. It's where it makes sense. Kariteh 17:06, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
