Talk:Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP)

I've added back the unreferenced tag because nothing in this article is backed up by independent reliable sources. CGAP's own website isn't a bad reference for some uncontroversial facts about its history, but they aren't the things that need sourcing. What needs sources are claims like CGAP is a resource center for the entire microfinance industry, where it incubates and supports new ideas, innovative products, cutting-edge technology, novel mechanisms for delivering financial services, and concrete solutions to the challenges of expanding microfinance. -- Siobhan Hansa 17:54, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi Siobhan, thanks for your comment/explanation. It's a bit difficult to find external sources that talk simply about what another organization does. However, it sounds like you're referring to portions of the text that might sound like promotional speak rather than simply description. So I'll work on editing that wording and let me know if that meets the criteria. Thanks. MFGateway 15:14, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks that would go along way to improving the article. I can also work on language/style issues, but if there are claims about greatness that can be backed up by good sources they should be included too. Virtually any independent sources are useful in building an article, even if just to show what the world at large thinks about the subject. It's a great shame there isn't more rigorous media/academic/societal attention paid to third sector organizations. I think the impact of many orgs is vastly under examined. -- Siobhan Hansa 15:44, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
