[edit] Gay Icon Project

In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. Thank you very much. Philwelch 20:38, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • To the person who deleted the Gay Icon category from the main page: here are several sites that classify her strong gay ties.

[edit] Sexually assaulted?

It says, "In 1974 she was sexually assaulted in a hotel following a performance in Westbury, New York." Um, she was raped. Are we whitewashing here? 68.219.72.147 17:41, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fan Left Her Money in her Will.

Hi This is my first discussion post! I saw this on news of the weird (http://www.newsoftheweird.com/archive/index.html) or possibly here http://www.newsoftheweird.com/archive/nw070916.html

The Continuing Crisis Just before Patricia Nilsen committed suicide last year, she cashed out her estate and left the money (about $300,000 in CDs) to famous 1960s singer Connie Francis, a move that was, said Nilsen's relatives, an abrupt departure from her previous plans. The relatives accuse Francis of manipulating Nilsen, but Francis said she hardly ever spoke to or wrote her. Francis described Nilsen as a huge fan who wrote to her frequently, perhaps giving Nilsen, said a relative, "the insane delusion" that Francis was her best friend (though there was no formal evidence of mental illness). Francis offered to split the proceeds with the family and to donate to Nilsen's favorite charity, but the family said no, and Francis recently filed a lawsuit in Palm Beach, Fla., to prevent the family from holding up her money. [New York Daily News, 8-16-07] I guess I will try to post this in the article once I can track down the appropriate documentation. Any help or advice is greatly approciated!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmacg99 (talk • contribs) 18:32, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
