Talk:Connel Ferry railway station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
What is the spelling of the closed station between Connel Ferry and Taynuilt.
Jowetts give it as:-
- Acht-na-Claich (or possibly Acht-na-Claich)
- Ach-na-Cloiche
The OS Map gives the village the name of:-
- Achnacloich
Did the Caledonian Railway or the C&O have any over variants?
Any further takers??

Definitely "Ach-na-Cloich" 84.68.234.192 23:32, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

- A source would be useful, as when in doubt I would probably go for the OS Map, having been shown that Jowett's is in error (and contradicts itself). Will also require the station itself to be moved (with a redirect) -- Stewart 23:38, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
A photo on p.54 of CEJ Fryer's book on the C&OR clearly shows the station name sign "ACH-NA-CLOICH". 84.68.234.192 23:46, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

- That will do me. Is it possible to get this picture scanned (copyright permitting), as it appears - like many Welsh Stations - the spelling is not always as the associated town/village now is -- Stewart 23:50, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
