[edit] Cleanup
This article needs cleanup, especially with the colloquialisms in the second paragraph. I don't know enough about the game (or anything, really) so I'm going to list it for cleanup.

[edit] Cartridge size
Was Conker the only game to use a 512 Mbit cartridge? I'm thinking so, but want to make sure before noting that. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.37.224.143 (talk • contribs) 16:34, 15 May 2005 (UTC).
Resident Evil 2 did. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 172.139.39.78 (talk • contribs) 11:58, 15 June 2005 (UTC).
- The ROM is 64 megabytes, which is 512 megabits. I have no idea what other games used 512 megabits though. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.0.149.90 (talk • contribs) 14:02, 13 October 2005 (UTC).
[edit] Spoiler
"(an example being the levels with the Tediz, a race of evil teddy bears in lieu of Nazi Germany in a Saving Private Ryan parody)." this is a spoiler, and should be removed. At the time of writing this, I was playing Conkers and hadn't know that that was a part of it, hence it ruined the surprise.
Soon after writing this, I deleted it myself. Parodies should be a separate section. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kvn8907 (talk • contribs) 11:01, 10 August 2005 (UTC).
[edit] Errors
Was not BBFC rated, rating removed —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lordgod666 (talk • contribs) 22:21, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
The back of the box claims that it was "Made In Japan" even though, Rareware was originated in North America. --ZachKudrna18@yahoo.com
- "Made in Japan" probably refers to the physical cartridge. tregoweth 23:27, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- Nintendo controls the physical manufacturing and packaging of game paks and discs. This is one of the ways that they make money from third party licensees (publishers). In short, Tregoweth's comment is correct. The game's box and sticker are not inccorect. "Made in Japan" refers to the physical cartridge. The box, manual and other inserts were printed and assembled in the United States (check the back cover of the Conker's Bad Fur Day manual), probably at Nintendo's facility in North Bend, Washington. That's not to say that the paper products for other US releases of Nintendo 64 games are not sometimes printed in Japan.olanmills
[edit] Parodies section and Indy
Should there be added a seperate section to highlight all the parodies in the game? Also, I recently noticed that Conker's line "Tediz? I hate these guys!" bears an astounding similarity to Harrison Ford's line in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: "Nazis. I hate these guys." Keeps with the whole WW2 theme too. If a parody section is added, should this be mentioned?
- I agree, the game was basically parodies strung together with random fart jokes in between. Mentioning most of the parodies at the top is good, but I think it almost deserves its own section, rather than wading through the chapter descriptions. Furthermore, if there should be mention of differences between the Xbox and N64 versions, it deserves its own section, as not to bog down the main article's chapters (which are very well written btw) MSI 22:14, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pics
Someone had the pic of the cover art in every section. I removed all of them as they took up too much room and were... a little redundant. --Thaddius 15:24, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
- Good job fixing it, but you could have simply reverted it and saved time instead of individually going through each section removing the picture. Hyenaste [citation needed] 15:31, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Nintendo Power refused to mention?
OK...that's pretty weird, considering they printed, you know, a whole guide for the game. I wouldn't say that's refusing to mention it.--70.160.205.82 15:59, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, but the primary magazine didn't mention it. They did publish a completely seperate player's guide, but in this way they kept any mention of the game from their primary audience of Nintendo Power readers. That is worth mentioning as there hasn't been any other Nintendo-published game treated that way as far as I know.olanmills
[edit] Xbox/N64 Distinction
There needs to be a seperate page for the Xbox remake of Conker's Bad Fur Day. The Xbox version does have a different title though. It's "Conker: Live & Reloaded" (see here).
Even though the Xbox version has a different title, I think that both games should appear on a disambiguation page if someone searches for "Conker's Bad Fur Day" because the main portions of both games are exactly the same apart from graphics. It's only the censoring and multiplayer that differ between the two versions. olanmills
[edit] WERE?!~?!!?
Where the **** can I git Conker's Bad Fur Day?
- E-bay, game stores that sell used games, flea markets...or just get Live and Reloaded. --UsaSatsui 18:44, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- I think the only way to get it now, is a used videogames store, or E-bay. --Conker the squirrel 00:54, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
Heres how to get it on ur PC: first download Project 64 at www.pj64.net , then go to coolroms.com and look for Conkers Bad Fur Day and download it. --Conker the squirrel
- I can't say for sure, but I imagine that comments about emulation are prohibited here 202.189.65.106 07:44, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- I doubt comments about emulation are verboten (particularly since there are myriad articles about it), but linking to ROMs is. What to do. 24.40.172.245 02:21, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] WHY?!?!~?!
Why did RAREWARE turn it into a mature rated game when it started off as a c- heerful game? Not that the game's bad,in fact,I love it,but how come they made it for an "ADULT" rate?Wasn't N64 for little kids?
EDIT:If the game Conker Live & Reloaded's uncensored, how come my big brother plays multiplayer(which is suposed to be uncensored) ,but has censoring sounds? Is there a lie?
- No, N64 Wasen't made for little kids, all videogame consoles have both kid and adult games. --Conker the squirrel 00:58, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- In some interviews, Rareware staff described the drastic redirection. They oricinally started making the game very cute and cheery, and staff members started making jokes about it and started talking about how there are too many games with that type of style and the fact that Rare itself was responsible for a number of them. Somehow, those discussions became more serious as they proposed the idea to Nintendo of taking the cute aesthetic and twisting it into raunchy parody.
- The Xbox version, Conker Live & Reloaded was originally going to be titled Conker Live & Uncut. It was going to be completely uncensored. Probably because of a decision made by new Rareware owner Microsoft, instead the game was censored even more than the N64 version was. However, I believe once you achieve certain conditions, you earn a cheat which uncensors the language for multiplayer, but it is censored otherwise.

[edit] Another Question
Is there atleast 1 copy of Twelve Tales:Conker 64 availible for N64?
- Yes, plenty, just look for the title "Conker's Bad Fur Day". The game title and direction was changed mid-development. There may be an unfinished prototype or demo copy out there of the game under it's original title, but I highly doubt it, the game was changed before it was finished. --UsaSatsui 23:57, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Another dumb question
Is there going to be a new Conker Game coming out?
[edit] Wait...
I'am about to get Conker:Live & Reloaded for my Birthday 2 Days from now.Where exactly is conker;l&r availible besides ebay?Is it at Best Buy?
- This is a talk page about changes to the article. Posts like these don't belong. RobJ1981 22:50, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Wow! A cigar! Does this game really have cigars in it?
- Yes, but you have to soak the game disc in White Spirits for 2 days to unlock it. The Kinslayer 07:52, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Nintendo controversy
"Another factor was Nintendo's fear of controversy. Even though it was to be published by Rareware themselves, Nintendo felt that parents might accidentally buy the game because of the cartoon squirrel who had appeared in other, kid-friendly games, and not realize it was intended for the 17 and up crowd. As the image of the promotional artwork above illustrates, Nintendo demanded the image feature a larger-than-usual ESRB "Mature" rating graphic, as well as the disclaimer "Warning: This game is not for anyone under 17" — both highly unprecedented moves that signified the company's fears. The actual box, however, featured a modified version of the message in which the "Warning" was removed, the text was changed to black with the words "Advisory:" included in the text box, and the text box's color was changed to white. It featured a standard-sized Mature rating icon in order to conform to the ESRB's guidelines."
Is that, in fact, the case? I always thought that the logo and mature warnings were intentionally made prominent so the game wouldn't look cutesy, sort of like "ooo, I'm bad, I'm mature, I'm controversial". I'm putting a fact sticker on that bit until someone can prove it JayKeaton 17:43, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] End Cutscene Spoiler
I believe that the section covering the end cutscene should be removed, as it completely gives away the entire gist of the thing. I'm going to delete it in order to prevent spoiling a very entertaining cutscene. Icefox111 03:58, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
That's ridiculous there are tons of spoliers on wikipedia(and on a personal note i loved the game but found the end of the ending(when he becomes king, not the whole operator thing, i love that) kind of stupid. It is not our job to prevent people from seeing spoliers i say we should put it back and put a spolier warning above the whole level thing.Parralax 23:02, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
I'll have to agree with Parralax there, if people are stupid enough to read the spoilers it's there own fault, that's what spoiler warnings are for, not to mention it gets a bit obvious when you're talking about the storyline.
[edit] Clean-up
I did a bit of clean-up, and I did the most that I could at one time. I'm afraid the rest is up to you lot. Try finding some more references and maybe we just might be able to remove that tag at the top. Good luck. Cat's Tuxedo 02:34, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] I added some info. Please check it over and reword it if you can. Also, one question.
I created a section under development in which I put some E3 footage comparison info and the original ending. I addded a legacy section in which I put the Ports and some information which was cut from the overview. *Cough* cult following *Cough*. But just in case it may be a little biased, please reword. But I would appreciate if it wasn't deleted since, after all, it is info.
P.S. Why was the cult following information deleted from the Overview? Mikister 23:44, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Conkersbfdbox.jpg
Image:Conkersbfdbox.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] "Modified word"
"Feck" isn't a modification of "fuck", it's Irish slang for "steal". The same topic has been covered in the Father Ted article, look at it yourself if you care to. I'm removing this comment.
