[edit] Page name and primary topic

I'm inclined to move this page to Coniston (disambiguation) and move Coniston, Cumbria to Coniston. The Conistons in Australia and Canada all seem to be minor neighbourhoods or sheep stations, while the other Conistons in England are so minor that they don't have articles yet. Coniston in Cumbria may not be especially large but it's probably significant enough to count as the primary topic, especially as the other Conistons are almost certainly named after it; it's certainly the subject of most of the article-namespace incoming links.

Furthermore, it's conventional to name articles on Australian and Canadian places as "Town, State", a convention that's by no means standard with British location articles, making it more likely that someone linking to one of the former places will intuitively use the full article title.

Any objections? --Blisco 21:51, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Sounds reasonable. You may want to speak to User:Morwen who made this a disambig page in the first place, just out of politeness and to see there was any paticular reasoning behind the decision. --Robdurbar 09:57, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
