[edit] "Mayor"?

BTW: Whomever put the Mayor information, is totally inaccurate. That mayor isn't the mayor of Concord. And Concord doesn't even have a mayor! I checked the City's website and my gut was right the City runs on a manager/council form of government. Concord's population is 3rd in New Hampshire, if I have my facts straight, and its much smaller than Manchester or Nashua and its close to a size of population of a large Southern New Hampshire town, probably giving away that they have a Manager than a Mayor. The City Manager is Thomas J. Aspell, Jr. I tried going to the edit page, but I couldn't find the mayor, I'm betting it was the template prohibiting me to edit it. If someone reads this, please change as soon as you can. Steven312 22:52, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

EDIT: I found it, just had to look harder, now the updated info about the City Manager now shows on the infobox. Steven312 22:55, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Concord does have a mayor, in fact he hired Mr. Aspell as city manager, in fact. Info box should be reverted. Bcarlson33 01:02, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
I know what a Mayor and City Manager is, so I do not need a crash course. For many years, I always knew that there wasn't a mayor in Concord. My town manager in my S. NH town also said that there was a council/manager and it was more like a town form of government in the about a year or two ago. And, I also checked the official city government website, and there was no direct page for the mayor, leading in my belief there wasn't a mayor. If the Monitor is accurate, I stand corrected, I apolgize for my error. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Steven312 (talkcontribs) 21:43, June 17, 2006 (UTC)
The City of Concord has a City Council form of government, with the Mayor being the head of the Council but only the honorary head of the city. The true "chief administrative office" of the city is the City Manager persuant to section 21 of the City Charter. --Assawyer 05:02, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NHIS in the first paragraph?

Is it really necessary to mention New Hampshire International Speedway in the first paragraph? I don't think this is one of the main things someone needs to know about Concord. I can see moving it to the sites of interest area.--ColForbin 01:59, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:ConcordFlag.gif

Image:ConcordFlag.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
