Talk:Conan O'Brien
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Manatee
Is the Manatee site an O'Brien project, or a Late Night project? I would assume the latter, in which case, it ought to be moved to the Late Night article, not here. TheHYPO 18:51, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Height
it became obvious to be that Conan was a very tall and when he was hosting his show in San Francisco he stood next to Golden State Warriors Foward Jason Richardson and was identical height. 4.237.252.12 17:29, July 17, 2007 (UTC)
- Are there any other sources to confirm that Conan is 6' 6"?? E.g. citation. --Sli723 22:48, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
OO i c u found out hes reall 6 ft 4. sry guys my bad!
[edit] Controversy Section
I don't see the why the Controversy section on this article is even here. It should go under/moved to the Late Night with Conan O'Brien article. Its not like he "directly" made the jokes in the first place. It only took place on his show, and it wasn't even directly his act. The only small thing I notice though is that the article seems to indicate that Canadians/Torontonians blame him for the skit, but its still about the show.--Gakhandal 03:36, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Robotchickenzuckuss.jpg
Image:Robotchickenzuckuss.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Irish comedian??
Conan is listed under Irish Comedians, is there any source that can confirm this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Allthecoolnamesweretaken (talk • contribs) 16:56, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- Confirm what, that he's Irish or a Comedian? --70.142.51.225 00:27, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- Irish, obviously. Allthecoolnamesweretaken 19:18, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- It's mentioned all the time on Late Night 129.15.131.246 04:59, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- Is it? Well there you go. Never seen the programme. I came across the bio because he was listed under 'Irish comedians' but I was a tad surprised when I didn't find anything about it in the article itself. Allthecoolnamesweretaken 23:02, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] South Park
I remember Conan showing the clip and commenting that he would have done the voice if Parker and Stone had asked him. But I'm fairly sure that it was not an interview with the two. Also, IMDB doesn't list the writing team appearing on Late Night together -- just separately in 1998, 1999 and 2004.

[edit] Spanish
Is he fluent in Spanish? He seems to speak Spanish very well during skits on the show.Kskk2 04:43, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Stalker
http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=319103 - I feel this should be in the article somewhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.245.107.141 (talk) 06:51, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed, I just came here for more info on this. Yellowking 14:00, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Religions
Just a question, which could be added to controversies. I have noticed that Conan quite eagerly mocks Christianity and Judaism but he never mentions (and mocks) Islam. Is it only my observation or did you notice same? Tymek 03:39, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Jub Jub
Why'd someone take out my " ... jub jub ..." thing I put in at random. It was funny and relevant. You guys are too serious and uptight. Dang, lighten up. This aint a professionally edited world class encyclopedia, it's fan edited. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.168.226.219 (talk) 10:11, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- It is not fan-edited. It's public-edited, including people who don't know who he is, or people who are professional. The goal is a professional article, not a fan site. TheHYPO (talk) 20:33, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] No mention of Triumph The Insult Comic Dog...
Also, when did Andy Richter leave Late Night? Jktflyte (talk) 18:56, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- This is Conan O'Brien. You want Late Night with Conan O'Brien TheHYPO (talk) 20:32, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Was alarm on show an indication of the stalker?
Recently an alarm went off during a taping of the show. Conan said he had never heard the sound before. Late in the show a voice came on the PA and said the situation was resolved. Did that alarm sound because the stalker was in the building? Does anyone know what date the alarm sounded? --Howdybob (talk) 09:47, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- It was a false fire alarm. Nothing to do with any stalker TheHYPO (talk) 01:50, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
-
- If you had watched the following show, he talked to the person who was on the PA. It was a small electrical problem in the building. 74.14.70.238 (talk) 16:11, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Colbert Bump
What about the whole Colbert(/Jon Stewart) feud with Conan?TwistedRed (talk) 21:02, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Guitar Youtube Link
I've removed the link from the article, because the video has been removed from Youtube. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shealer (talk • contribs) 23:16, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
It's hard to prove a negative like "he's not an X" but he's pretty apolitical. Never seriously discusses politics; doesn't affiliate himself with any campaign. Probably figures it's not why people watch him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.6.155.157 (talk) 02:38, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Conan's political affiliation
12.173.150.195 (talk) 05:38, 19 March 2008 (UTC)I'm almost certain Conan claimed (in conversation with one of his guests during the writer's strike) that he is a Republican. However, the Wikipedia article states he supports the Democratic party. Could someone please clarify? I'm sorry I can't remember more (like who the guest was or anything... I think he had the beard if that helps). I only remember it because it surprised me a lot that such a popular TV non-partisan entertainer would mention (almost, as if, in passing) his party affiliation on air.
[edit] Background and Education
Is this thing about taking Ball State actuarial courses online true? Because it seems pretty farfetched and there's no supporting documentation.209.6.155.157 (talk) 02:46, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
