IMDb profile

Stargate: Continuum is a planned direct-to-DVD movie written by Brad Wright and directed by Martin Wood. Some scenes for this movie were already shot at the end of March 2007, but the original start date was set for May 22, 2007 at Vancouver's Bridge Studios. The production budget was $7 million.[2] The movie will be released on both DVD and Blu-ray Disc on July 29, 2008,[3][4][5][6] followed by possible TV broadcasts.[7] According to Robert C. Cooper, they will be released internationally on DVD by MGM at about the same time. Distribution and domestic release will occur through FOX. Cooper mentioned that nothing has been finalized though.[8] The movie is also expected to be released on August 6, 2008 in Australia[1] and on August 18, 2008 in the United Kingdom.

Stargate: Continuum will be a time-travel adventure. It will be the second sequel to Stargate SG-1, after Stargate: The Ark of Truth.[5][6]

The movie will include scenes filmed at the US Navy's Applied Physics Laboratory Ice Station in the Arctic, 200 nautical miles (230 mi/370 km) north of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. These scenes will feature Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping and Ben Browder. They were filmed from March 23 to 29, 2007. The scenes will also feature the USS Alexandria (SSN-757).[9] The Arctic filming included scenes shot on the ice,[10] scenes shot with the Alexandria as a backdrop,[11] scenes shot on board the Alexandria,[12] and a surfacing shot of the Alexandria.

[edit] Plot

While SG-1 attends the execution of Ba'al, the last of the Goa'uld System Lords, Teal'c and Vala inexplicably disappear into thin air. Carter, Daniel and Mitchell race back to a world where history has been changed: the Stargate program has been erased from the timeline. As they try to convince the authorities what's happened, hundreds of Goa'uld motherships arrive in orbit, led by Ba'al, his queen Qetesh (Vala), and his first prime, Teal'c. The remaining SG-1 members must find the Stargate and set things right before the world is enslaved by the Goa'uld.

Writer Brad Wright has stated that this movie will be a stand alone and it's hoped it will launch a continued series of movies based on the SG-1 TV series. Wright also stated fans can expect many guest stars including characters that have been "killed off" (and ones that have gone "off the radar", not dead) during the TV run.[13]
