Conversation Piece (musical)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Conversation Piece is a musical written by Noel Coward. The story concerns an exiled French Duke, who picks up a poorly educated girl and tries to pass her off as his ward (shades of the later "My Fair Lady"). His intention was for her to court and marry a rich man, so that he could obtain some of her wealth.

The musical premiered at His Majesty's Theatre, London, on 16 February 1934. Coward directed and starred in the piece with Yvonne Printemps, who sang "I'll follow my secret Heart" in it.
