Control camisole

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A control camisoles offers medium control of the bust, [[abdomen}} and waist in modern silhouettes, which looks like a camisole - many with built in bras. Control camisoles are sleek and lightweight and can create a defined silhouette under clothing.

These are the most casual of shaping garments and the easiest to wear, covering the torso from above the chest to at or below the waist. They look similar to cotton or silk camisoles, but the straps are usually wider, the hems longer, and the stretch fabric provides a smoothing touch.

[edit] Functions

  • Gives a sleeker look under semi form fitting tops.
  • Ideal as a base layer under sheer or semi–opaque blouses.
  • Usually come in light to medium control. Light control will be more comfortable than medium, but for the smoother touch look for camis with less nylon and more cotton woven in with the spandex, scoop necks, wide–set straps, longer hems, minimal seaming or seamless bodies, and tags that are printed, not sewn on.
  • Nude shades will blend with skin tone and disappear under sheerer blouses, while other colors can be worn under opaque tops.
  • Built–in underwires control camisoles can be worn without bra.
