From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Contrast sensation is a human ability to distinguish objects which scarcely stand out against a background. Contrast sensation is evaluated on the basis of sinusoidal grids.[citation needed] The increased threshold of contrast sensation may be a symptom of various eye diseases.
