In astrology, a contraparallel occurs when two planets or celestial bodies occupy the same degree, within 1 degree of orb, but the opposite declination. One planet will occupy a position north of the celestial equator and the other will occupy the same degree south of the celestial equator. Whenever two planets or points are contraparallel to each other, they can be interpreted as opposing one another.
