Contingencies (ISSN 1048-9851) is the bimonthly magazine of the American Academy of Actuaries, providing a large and diverse readership with general interest and technical articles on a wide range of issues related to the actuarial profession. Contingencies is mailed to members of the Academy and targeted individuals (such as legislators and their staffs, regulators, business executives, and related organizations). For Academy members, the basic annual subscription rate is included in Academy dues.
Contingencies is also a term in psychology referring to the relationship between event as in Reinforcement contingencies. In a reinforcement contingency, the consequence of behavior increases the likelihood or rate of future behavior
