Consuming Passions

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Consuming Passions is a 1988 black comedy film conceived - though not actually written by - Michael Palin and Terry Jones. The film stars Vanessa Redgrave, Jonathan Pryce, and Sammi Davis and was directed by Giles Foster.

The film, based on the 1973 BBC Television play Secrets, is about a chocolate factory that begins putting out boxes of chocolates made out of human flesh. In the UK, the original BBC play is available as a bonus on the Ripping Yarns DVD.

Since its release, the film has become somewhat difficult to find. In the USA, the film is only available in the VHS format. Consuming Passions received its British television debut in July 1990.
