Constantino de Bragança

D. Constantino de Bragança (1528 - 1575) was the 20th governor of Portuguese India (7th with the viceroy title), son of the Duke of Bragança, Jaime, chief in 1948 of the great ambassador of the King of France.
He entered Goa and he was governor. He conquered several areas around the area and built a fortress near Balsar.
He was considered by the great historian C. R. Boxer one of the most fanatic Portuguese governors of India together with Francisco Barreto (1555 - 1558). He was later governor of Ribeira Grande on the island of Santo Antão in Cape Verde at the time was also the Portuguese Empire from 1562 until the time before his death.
