Constanţa metropolitan area
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It has been established in 2007 and includes the municipality of Constanta, the 5 cities of Năvodari, Ovidiu, Eforie, Murfatlar, Techirghiol and 8 communes (Mihail Kogalniceanu, Cumpana, Valu lui Traian, Lumina, Tuzla, Agigea, Corbu and Poarta Albă). It has a population of 550.000 in just 33% area of the Constanţa County.
Such administrative arrangement existed in an approximative similarity, before 1989, in which Constanta Municipality included also, except above, the city of Mangalia and communes 23 August and Limanu, together with all the summer resorts located between 23 August and Mangalia, the than so called "Mangalia Nord" resorts area.
Anyhow this new administrative reform exists only on papers and some maps, nothing being done so far to bring this reform into real life(local unified administration, unified transportation, citizenship, etc.)
