Consonance Productions is a charity formed to promote emerging UK musicians and composers. It does so by encouraging new musical compositions and the mixing of art forms, to create a variety of accessible entertainment.


[edit] What have they done?

They initiated their first concert series in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2006. In that year they organised 2 Concerts:


Consonance Sax
Two emerging saxophone quartets The Delice and Sax-Ecosse played two packed programmes, including eight saxophones, voice, folk band and visuals. Two World premiers were performed "Rumba Delice" by Bruno Bower and "Moonrise" by Andy Thorburn both written for the groups involved.


Consonance Concertos
Thirty performers from Britain's leading conservatoires and National Youth Orchestra were joined by 3 soloists, Richard Godden(clarinet), Jp Ekins(piano) and Andrew Somerville(saxophone), to perform three concertos: Mozart: Clarinet Concerto Ibert: Concertino pour Saxophone Mozart: Piano Concerto 24 and a world premiere "Symphonietta" by Peter Facer(one of the performers)

Inspired by summer evenings, the young Schubert wrote his famous ‘Trout’ Quintet for friends in 1819. Join us in 2007 for a lively performance by friends from the National Youth Orchestra recapturing the spirit of his masterpiece.
