Consilient is a privately held company located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Other offices are located in San Francisco and Singapore. The company provides push email software for mobile phones and devices using open standards.
Their product, Consilient Push, extends email, contacts, and calendar to mobile devices. Built on new open standards, it is different from the proprietary solutions of competitors 'Research In Motion' (RIM) and 'Visto' that have created patent infringement issues. The company's product does away with a Network Operations Center (NOC) and thus may also have a price advantage.
Consilient co-authored the new open standard along with Sony Ericsson, China Mobile, and LG Electronics, among others.
