Conservative Group for Europe (CGE)

The Conservative Group for Europe exists to promote Britain's vigorous and purposeful membership of the European Union and a Europe built on Conservative principles of an open market, individual and business opportunity and a responsible engagement in world affairs.

It was chaired by Quentin Davies, a British MP for the constituency of Grantham and Stamford, before he defected to the Labour Party. Lord Brittan of Spennithorne is the President.

Founded more than 30 years ago, CGE is affiliated to the Conservative Party and is part of Conservative Mainstream.
