[edit] Structure

The charity is governed by a Board of Directors and supported by a Council. It has two full-time members of staff, two part-time and four regular volunteers. Based in the Royal Geographical Society in Kensington its activities have covered every continent on Earth.

[edit] Aims

The Foundation believes that sustainability is the only way to guarantee the future viability of our environment. That, and increasing education – particularly to people in their own communities - and discovering simple, cost-effective solutions.

[edit] Activities

For the past twenty-five years the Conservation Foundation has played a unique role in the conservation movement. It is a lean green machine relying entirely on a small professional team and a group of volunteers. It has spread the good news that more and more industries and communities are taking up the conservation challenge and succeeding to make a real difference.

[edit] Funding

Thanks to commercial sponsorship, government funding and valuable awards from charitable trusts and foundations and individuals, the Foundation has been able to provide funds for a large number of projects that meet its criteria. This assistance can be vital in moving an 'idea' into 'action' and onto a state where it can undertake its own fundraising.
