Conrad Weidenhammer

Conrad Weidenhammer (born: January 27, 1866 Ontario died: ) was a farmer and provincial level politician from Alberta, Canada.

Weidenhammer's wife gave birth to a daughter at Elmira, Ontario on March 24, 1896.[1]

[edit] Alberta politics

Weidenhammer first ran for the Alberta Legislature as an Independent candidate in the 1905 Alberta general election he was badly defeated in the 3 way contest finishing a distant 3rd losing out to Liberal candidate John MacPherson. MacPherson and Weidenhammer would run against each other once again in the 1913 Alberta general election. This time Weidenhammer would easily defeat MacPherson. It is said he had the broad support of the local German community.[2] Weidenhammer would serve out his term in office before retiring from Alberta provincial politics.
