Conrad Jantjes (born 24 March 1980 in Boksburg, Gauteng, South Africa) is a South African rugby union footballer who plays primarily as a fullback for the Springboks in international rugby and the Stormers in Super Rugby.
Jantjes was born in a close-knit family as the only son and youngest of three children[1]. He grew up with a love for all sports and represented South Africa not only in rugby, but also in both cricket and football at junior level. After having represented South Africa at all other age groups, Jantjes received the call-up from then coach Harry Viljoen into the senior Springbok team in 2001, making his debut against Italy in Port Elizabeth.
After a four-year hiatus from the international scene, Jake White recalled Jantjes to the Springbok squad for the 2005 end-of-season tour, where he played in the tests against Argentina and Wales on the right wing.
After a great 2008 Super 14 season in which the Stormers finished just short of making the play-offs, Jantjes was picked by new Springbok coach Peter de Villiers as starting fullback for the first test against Wales on June 7. He scored a try in the 43-17 win.[2]
