Conrad was a comic strip written and illustrated by Bill Schorr that ran from 1982 to 1986. It was syndicated by Tribune Media Services.
The main character, Conrad, was a frog who, needing money to pay off his bookie, convinced the fat, dim-witted fairy tale princess that he is an enchanted prince who can be turned into a human by a kiss.
Other characters include the princess's father, the king, who was skeptical that Conrad is a prince. Aggie was the resident witch who normally grants spells and potions to the princess. Fido was the princess's pet alligator, who thinks he's a dog.
Sadly, the strip did not catch on, and was dropped after few years. Bill Schorr would, however, create three more comic strips - The Grizzwells (1987-present), Phoebe's Place (1990-1991), and Lunchbucket (1993, with Rex May)
Two book collections of Conrad were released, both from 1985.
