Connecticut State Troubadour

The Connecticut State Troubadour is an honorary position, established in 1991 by the Connecticut General Assembly. The State Troubadour functions as an ambassador of music and song to encourage cultural literacy and promote the State of Connecticut.[1] It is a two-year appointment and carries a stipend of US$5000 for the two years. The responsibilities of the position include performing at least three events at the request of the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism, to promote the state in song, and to serve on panels to select future state troubadours.[2]
