The Connecticut Capitol Police is a law enforcement unit responsible for the seventeen acre Connecticut State Capitol complex in Hartford.

In 1974, The Connecticut State Capitol Police was created as a unit supervised by the Connecticut State Police. Over time the agency grew and in 1996 the Department was made independent of the State Police.

Eight officers are assigned to the day shift, and five officers each assigned to the evening and midnight shifts.
