"Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)" is a piano-driven ballad performed by American actress and singer Lindsay Lohan. It was produced by Greg Wells and Kara DioGuardi for A Little More Personal (Raw), the second album by Lohan. It was released as the album's first single, and radio and video promotion began in October 2005. While three singles had been released from her debut album, Speak (2004), "Confessions" was the first single of Lindsay's to make an appearance on the Billboard Hot 100. The video went to #1 on MTV's request show TRL. In the US it made its début at #66, peaking at #57, and this is her highest debut in the US.

The song's music video, filmed on September 25, 2005 on 26th street in New York City, features scenes from Lohan's childhood, depicting her father's drunkenness and family abuse. Lohan directed the video; though she called the shoot a difficult and emotional one, Lohan says she received the support of the cast and crew and she was able to complete the video.

In some scenes, Lohan hides in the bathroom as her parents argue in the living room, while her sister (portrayed by her sister, Aliana) goes into her bedroom and suffers after coming home from ballet class.

All the three rooms (The bathroom where Lohan is, the bedroom where Aliana is and the living room where the parents are) are shown behind a huge plate-glass department store window and people see her life, showing shocked expressions.

In the end, as Lohan stands there behind the glass, photographs of memories fly up onto the "wall", from which she breaks out. Lohan initially wanted to break the glass "wall" herself, but the explosion of glass was added digitally to prevent injuries.
