[edit] Plot
As Division Chief Blevins expresses his concern with the direction of the X-Files department, Mulder becomes obsessed with solving a new case that closely parallels an 'encounter' he experienced as a child: the abduction of his younger sister, Samantha.
The episode starts off with a girl, Ruby, getting abducted in an obscure lake near Sioux City, Iowa. The boy of the family starts having nightmares and becomes a conduit (the medium between the aliens and his family), scribbling binary later translated as fragments of Leonardo Da Vinci's Universal (Vetruvian) Man, a strand of Double helix DNA, Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 in G major, and defense codes to American satellites.
