Concordia [1] - one of Shanghai's three American-curriculum international schools - is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. A non-denominational Christian school, Concordia was founded in 1998. Enrollment for the 2007-08 school year is just over 1,000 students. Enrollment for the 2008-09 school year is expected to be about 1,100 students with waiting lists from the Preschool 3-year-old program through Grade 11 (click here for a waiting list update: [2]).
In August 2007, the 10-acre campus opened its new elementary school building (replacing an existing structure) and the David F. Rittmann Fine Arts Center (featuring a 450-seat theatre to support the drama program, 2D and 3D art rooms, art gallery, and choir/band rooms). June 2008 will mark the beginning of construction on a new high school building, which is slated for completion by August 2009. June 2008 will also mark Concordia's seventh graduating class.
