Paid for by sponsors and vendors, the event is offered for free to the public with premium seating available in exchange for "Groupie" donations.

Organized into three stages, the DaimlerChrysler Main Stage, Comerica Diversity Stage and the Rhythm Stage, the shows run non-stop featuring international and local groups with the biggest acts usually performing on the Main Stage at night.

The Meijer Children's Tent offers free crafts activities by Arts & Scraps of Detroit. Food and merchandise vendors all reflect the multicultural theme.

The 2007 headliners are Hugh Masekela, Neville Brothers, Steel Pulse, Eddie Palmieri Salsa Band and They Might Be Giants. On July 19, the Detroit Symphony pays tribute to civil rights legend Rosa Parks by performing Hannibal Lokumbe's "Dear Mrs. Parks."
