Conan Byrne, born in Dublin on 10 July 1985, is a footballer, currently playing with Eircom League side Sporting Fingal. Byrne scored prolificly for the UCD under-21s upon joining the club and eventually made his way into the UCD starting lineup as a forward. In spite of scoring UCD's equaliser in their 2005 League Cup final defeat to Derry City he could not replicate his underage scoring level for the senior team and drifted out of the team. He has since been remodeled as a right winger and reestablished himself in that berth since Patrick Kavanagh's departure to Birmingham City. In this role he was named UCD's Player of the Season in 2007. He signed for Sporting Fingal in January 2008 where he has also taken up the position as Marketing Manager for the club.
