There are 18 different and unofficial paved and partially un-paved trails in Lakewood Commons. The trails are divided up into 5 different series that are named for the parent trail, which could be Trails 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Each trail (except Trail 5) has at least one child route that connects the parent to other trails or areas. The numbering system for parent routes is similar to the Interstate Highway System, which has all even routes going east-west and odd routes going north-south.[1] The child routes are arranged by a two-digit number that has the parent's number for the first number.
