--Commodity sampler 14:12, 25 June 2006 (UTC)--Commodity Sampler 14:12, 25 June 2006 (UTC)A Sampling Representative in the precious metals reclamation industry. An Independent contracted third party who takes possession of a material once it is delivered by armored car or trucks to a primary or secondary refinery in sealed containers any place in the world for reclamation. The Sampling Representative takes posession during the reclamation process and doesn't let the material out of sight until a homogenous portion (the sample) is removed which represents a true or real value of the entire amount, ie... 40,00 troy ounces (2,700 pounds avoirdupois) should reduce down to between 10 and 50 troy ounces depending wether it's all metal or powder sweeps, from this material individual samples are taken each weighing between 1/2 to 2 troy ounces each and placed in doubled sealed envelopes using evidence tape and wax to insure the samples integrity is maintained. Usually 3 or 4 samples are dispersed (1 to the material owner, 1 to the refiner or material buyer, 1 to the samplers laboratory for analysis, and 1 is kept as an Umpire in case a dispute concerning the materials value arises). Once all parties agree on this materials value based on this process the sell and material buyer (the refinery) exchange monies.
