[edit] A little sickening
But still, my god.

- what exactly is it you want fixed? It's not at all clear what you are finding sickening about the article. This complaint isn't helpful at all.Zebulin (talk) 22:25, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Creation
I decided to make a nice comparison what I believe Comparison between U.S. states and countries nominal GDP was attempting to do. However, based on the discussion, I was inspired to use GDP by PPP figures. I will need some help because I don't know much about economics, so an in debt introduction would be nice from a professional. Also, I don't tend to get along well with tables. I would be pleased if someone could correct that. Thank you, (Eddie 03:09, 31 March 2007 (UTC))
[edit] Additions
I am aware that the title for this article is Comparison between U.S. states and countries by GDP (PPP), however, I would like to know what the Wikipedia community would think about adding more subnational entities to the list. I am mainly thinking about administrative divisions of bigger economic powers such as the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy etc. Of course then we would have to create a whole new article, but we could use this one for reference. Please discuss, (Eddie 03:19, 31 March 2007 (UTC))
- This could be done but then double counting would need to be allowed as otherwise we might be left with a list of only divisions of countries with many important countries omitted from the list.Zebulin 16:32, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
The World Bank data ought to be the same at the top and bottom of the page, and it is for countries like Brazil and Russia, but when you get down to Ukraine and Peru their GDP is 320,000 and 174,000 in the first list but 65,000 and 68,000 in the second. According to the World Bank link at the bottom of the page the first set of numbers is correct. What is going on? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.98.7.85 (talk • contribs) 20:04, 14 June 2007
I seems that while the first list (List by the The World Bank) is really in GDP (PPP) International dollars, the second Combined list is in GDP U.S. dollars. -- Sharkb 09:06, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
