Please check the dates given for production: I believe the 3000 series was produced from 1996 to 2003.

1. The graphics card manufacturer S3 announced their involvement in the "new Presario 3000" on 15th July 1996 (http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0EIN/is_1996_July_15/ai_18489372).

2. The Presario 3070US included a 2.66GHz processor released in May 2002.

3. The Presario 3070US is first reviewed by About.com in July 2003.
