From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 6th Canadian Infantry Division (and for shorter periods, the 7th and 8th Divisions as well) actually did exist, but it was a home defence organisation only and was staffed by NMRA conscripts. In contrast, the CAPF was supposed to be used exclusively in the Pacific theatre and would be staffed only by European theatre veterans who volunteered for service.
