[edit] Request: medicinal uses?

I'm curious about the original Linnaean species name, officinalis, which would imply some previous medical uses. Does anyone know what these might be? Web search turned up only [1] --79.72.117.159 (talk) 10:47, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
