Talk:Commandos (series)

Might want to have more basic article on commandos the people (soldiers) before mention of game. --Daniel C. Boyer
- There's a Commando article and another about the British Commandos. Icey 22:37, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Commando's 3
Why Ain't There More Information about the third game , or is it just not very good so no-one wants too read anything about it ? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.33.41.83 (talk • contribs) 22:52, May 29, 2006.
- There isn't much information on any of the games, in comparison to pages that other computer games have. There's nothing to stop you creating pages for them and writing about them though.
- To answer your question more specifically, I've played all the Commandos games and was disappointed by the third game. It seemed rushed, I didn't like how some of the missions worked (like the timers) and before it was released they were going on about how revolutionary it would be and how it would be completely different to the others, but then it seemed pretty much the same. The difference between the first and second game was far greater. I'm assuming that other people who have played the games felt the same, so people are more like to contribute about things they care about. The latest game, Commandos Strike Force, has been negatively received by a large majority of people, so I would imagine interest in the series is pretty low at the moment. [edit] Graphics (Xbox)
Why is the version for xbox so shit? It looks like one of the early ps1 games! or late snes games!--60.226.17.162 07:56, 11 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Lupin's DOB
The article currently states Lupin was born in 1916, but was 10 in 1928. Which is right?
- The year should be for the events when he was 12, so I'll correct that. Icey 22:59, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Commandos Strike Force
This article needs mentioning a newest (though somewhat spin-off) Commandos game.
- I've mentioned it briefly in a few appropriate places. I don't know enough about the game to write about it properly, so I've leave that to someone with more knowledge. Icey 10:59, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Green Beret's real name?
I have the manual of Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines and it states that Green Beret's name is Jack O' Hara and his nickname is "Butcher". Where is the info from Wikipedia's page from?
- My C:BEL, C:BtCoD and C3 manuals says the green beret is called Sergeant Jack "Butcher" O'Hara. Only my C2 manual says the green beret is known as Jerry "Tiny" McHale. The descriptions for both and the pictures are pretty much the same, so they are definitely meant to be the same person. There seems to be a few other inconsistency's in C2, like the spy is called Spooky, but he's known as Frenchy in all the other games. Also the Sapper is called Inferno in C2, but Fireman in all the other ones. I'll add the alternative names with the most widely used ones first to the article. Icey 23:25, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Other Commandos
perhaps some mentioning on the characters Natasha and Whiskey in the article would make it more helpful, it seems like the description of the characters derives all it's information from the first game, largely ignoring the second and third game. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.208.106.29 (talk • contribs) 22:11, 14 May 2006.
- Aye, it looks like someone pretty much copied what was in the manual into here. There's a tiny bit of info about some of the minor characters in the Commands 2 section, but I'll create a "Minor Character" section at some point and list everyone in there with some information. - Done! Icey 23:31, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bad stuff about Commandos
One thing that may sometimes be abit bad, is that you cannot fire while moving, so you will have to get to a complete halt before you shoot, during which a stationary enemy may then see you and shoot. Also the controls of Destination Berlin is uncomfortable.
[edit] Are they REAL?
The characters of the game were REAL people?.. I can't undersdand it from the article.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Commandos2.jpg
The image Image:Commandos2.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
-
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.
