why were the info for different general fractions removed? They were quite informative... Evil Deep Blue 06:55, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Some one should add the new units introduced to the game —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.144.116.166 (talk • contribs)
- I don't see how a decent amount of information could be written about these - WP:NOT a game guide Cynical 21:18, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
How do you get the other generals? Is it something to do with other difficulty levels? --The1exile 10:03, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
No. See, the boss generals were originally to be added to the game for the Generals Challenge portion and possibly for the campaigns, but due to some reasons unknown, EA only left Leang in and a reference to Deathstrike (for the first GLA mission), and Ironsides was completely removed from the plot. I would like to also raise the point that the Boss Generals section should be revamped or placed in its own section as the Boss Generals aren't exactly part of the game and are only accessible through a mod. BenTheHobo 03:55, 8 July 2007 (UTC)== mod for generals ==
So where can you find this mod to get the three boss generals because ihave downloaded the latest version but still can't get them! i have v1.04. so where did you find them
- Version 1.04 is not a mod, its a patch. I am not sure what mod is referred to, but I have only played Reborn. --The1exile 16:23, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
So what do i ahve to do to get these boss generals is there a code we can change in the text to play as them.
- Download the Pro:Gen mod from www.deezire.net. It lets you play as them in both Skirmish and Generals' Challenge and against all of them in the Generals Challenge (though only one each time you play Generals' Challenge). It also unlocks a huge variety of unused features, such as new units, buildings, powers, and upgrades for all of the generals/sides, unused unit voices and portraits, and a new POW game element. It also lets you play against Generals Fai and Juhziz in the Generals' Challenge, as you couldn't before. It makes some original modifications and improvements as well. - Conrad Devonshire 02:26, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
I have a small concern about the mod. Will you still be able to play online once you mod the game? I have had friends who were banned from playing online after modding certain games. Wiseman45 16:31 28 March 2006
I have used network play with the reborn mod without problems, but never attempted net play. --The1exile - Talk - Contribs - 21:25, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
I am absolutely certain you can. Generals Online will automatically gray out any players that are not using your mod (in my experience). B|Cube|contribs 20:50, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
I have a problem when i start ZH my base explodes after some seconds what can i do. Can anyone answer it now.(PLEASE,PLEASE).
- This question would be better asked at the reference desk. If you leave a message there, someone will likely respond to your question. TomStar81 (Talk) 06:21, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
I think there should be a section about the MOD for this game. It doesn't have to be long, but it should let readers know that there are mods circling around the community and the tools used to make them.

[edit] Remove Ironside.
The Fact is that no two boss-general modifications portray Ironside, Deaethstrike, or Leang with the same technology is enough to remove them from this page. Deathstrike and Leang have minor roles in the single-player, but Ironside has been completely removed from the official game (save what was left in the coding) so he has no place in this article in my opinion. -JYM2
- I agree. Does anyone disagree? He's not part of the official game. This shouldn't really be a page for talking about mod unlockables. He could receive a brief mention elsewhere for being cut. Makron1n 14:11, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- While I agree that he isn't part of the official game and should be removed, I think there should still be at least one line, like "In addition to Deathstrike and Leang, a boss U.S.A. general named Ironside was included in early versions of the game. However, he was ultimately cut from the final version." And you're forgetting- there is at least one mention to Ironside in-game, though he isn't labelled as such. His bio picture is seen in the start-up cinematic (the one that looks like a naval officer). I don't disagree that he should be removed, but he isn't completely gone from the game.--AK-17 17:47, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- Right, I'm going to brutally edit the Ironside bit now...Makron1n 23:07, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removed "Bad Rating"
I took the liberty of removing the Bad Rating section as it was lacking in grammar, spelling and generally without discernable meaning.--89.14.186.40 01:19, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] All quotes removed
To spearhead cleanup of this article. I made another short-lived article titled Factions in Command & Conquer: Generals - Zero Hour, deleted because of its irregularity. This article focused far more on the individual factions than that deleted article. Don't get me wrong, we have a lot of useful information. I just think we may have added too much. -JYM2
[edit] Cleaning up the army...
I've started pruning the game guide information from the Generals descriptions. Well, I say pruning, but since each description is 98% game guide detailing different units and suggesting strategies for dealing with them, it's more a case of slash-and-burn. The Kinslayer 09:16, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] About Zero Hour
Zero Hour is extremely buggy, and release was rushed. Plus many aspects that should've been in the original game were shoved in. Its a nice expansion to the game but it was never cleaned up. Typical of EA. AllStarZ 01:56, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for sharing that with us. The Kinslayer 09:00, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Incorrect capitalization, spelling errors, SAGE trashing
Could someone fix the paragraph "SAGE Improvment"
Command & Conquer: Generals - Zero Hour's SAGE Engine received a few tweaks while in development, The Game runs more efficiently compared to "Command & Conquer: Generals". The Particle System was "optimized" to provide "SOMEWHAT" smoother gameplay, The Developers also added a heat distortion effect system for the Particle Effects Engine, They added a few other nifty features.
However, The same problem of the original Generals SAGE was not fixed in the Optimized SAGE, Like the Collision Engine bug where tanks or infantries go THROUGH Each other, The Pathfind Engine where unit's usually get stuck, Random missile flight paths Where missiles usually skid to the terrain, etc."
The units do get stuck Italic textsometimesItalic text during the gameplay, but that's more of exception than a rule, typically related to bad map design instead. "They added a few other nifty features" does not convey any information whatsoever. The collision detection is a "bug" that actually enhances the gameplay, because otherways disproportionally sized units would block each others routes all the time. You can position units between terrain or some other structure for tactical advantage.
There are sure are other problems in the game, including frequent lost multiplayer synch, unability to save or pause multiplayer games and airplanes assigned to area guard just flying in a circle when being shot, not attacking back or retreating...
Mismatches are hardly frequent, usually only happen when exploited by cheaters. Having the ability to save or pause multiplayer games is simply pointless, and the reaction of air units in guard mode is based entirely on what the player does, not because of bad design.
- You obviously don't play the game, or you're some air headed developer that has no freaking idea how bad the coding in this game is. A recent LAN party I was at, each player had a dual core Athlon X2 6000, and 2 GB of RAM, with one person having an 8800 GTS, 8800 GT and a Radeon X1950Pro. We get into the game and it mismatches 10 seconds into the game before anyone can finish their first building. This game is crap! 75.163.142.132 (talk) 11:50, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Dr. Thrax
I removed most of the info about "Dr. Thrax" and "prince Kassad" because they had spoilers in a non-spoiler section. Since I haven't played the game, I can't replace them with other pertinent info, so could someone else? Im.a.lumberjack 20:53, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Game mods
I noticed that the section about game mods was removed. While the reason is valid (link spam), the general content of the game modification section seemed (at least to me) encyclopedic. Am I not noticing something that I should?
--FastLizard4 (Talk|Contribs) 01:22, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
We don't need to specify a link to particular mod, but the article should mention that this game is "modable" and there's a modding community. --frankyz--5/31/2007
[edit] In-game bugs
This game is infamous for its extreme bugs. Shouldn't someone add to this article the bugs that exist? (Primarily the SCUD bug)
- If you know of any bugs that exist in the latest version (1.04?), feel free to add a section mentioning them. - KingRaptor 10:12, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
As far as I know, all of the bugs are now gone. I have version 1.04, and the only bugs I've noticed were in some downloaded maps, which isn't a flaw in the game itself. --Mathew Williams 11:28, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Raptor goof
This is a goof because the F-22 is a stealth jet in real life, but is not portrayed as stealth in the game. If you disagree, reply below instead of re-removing the goof from the article.
--FastLizard4 (Talk|Contribs) 23:55, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
-
- the way stealth work in the game is wrong anyway, if we get technical with F22 reallife vs F22 ingame, it going to be a nightmare explaining all the unit that are wrong, like the chinese MBT actually has a western "box" type turret instead of a rounded soviet based ones. or the fact that helix is shorter and is used as a navy helicopter for missile direction and anti submarine operations. unless you are willing to compare every single unit, there is no reason why F22 should get "special treatment" and highlight. Akinkhoo (talk) 15:34, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Super Generals
Isnt there a mod called C&C Generals Zero Hour Reborn where you get to play as the Boss Generals like Genral Deathstrike or General Ironside? And also some other cool things like naval ships and the ion cannon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.73.26.76 (talk) 08:32, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] About the names of 2 Chinese generals in ZeroHour
about "ta hun kwai", "tsing shi tao", the info of their chinese name meaning totally nonsense afaik. I m Chinese and C&C fan, i played alot of ccg/zh. for zh, i tracked it since its first news, so far never read anything about the meaning of these 2 names, no from EAP/EALA official nor EA taiwan souces(Chinese version released in Taiwan). as i know, these 2 names just names. and more important, the guess of meaning most probably wrong, the reason is simple, these names are Wade-Giles, not Hanyu Pinyu, so how can u read it as pinyin style? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.186.9.4 (talk) 14:14, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
The names have no actual meaning or correct Chinese characters for it, they are just names made up by EA to look like Chinese names. J.S.Lucindy (talk) 00:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] No one cares about the profiles.
The characters themselves are extremely, extremely minor in Zero Hour, with the exception of Thrax and Kassad because of their roles in the campaigns. The only thing that sets these 9 factions apart is their armies and style of play. Otherwise, they're all just bad AI with attitudes in the Generals Challenge. The information that's been provided in this article about them is mostly copypaste from the booklet PDFs, when this article was supposed to be about a game that never uses this information.
This article should be about the game, not the instruction booklet. If the characters were worth this level of detail, they'd be granted it, but the only thing worth mentioning about this particular game's characters are their specialization and their significant differences from the other armies. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.251.53.196 (talk) 19:04, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Characters Mod
Generals in Zero Hour Reborn Mod v5 The Last Stand;
THere is a list for that.
If I am reading this correctly, this page is revealing info on a Mod for the game, which shouldn't be there.
