William Shakespeare wrote such a play, appropriately titled The Comedy of Errors.

This implies that the term was already in use at the time, and the play was so-named to refer to it. In reality, this play is how the term itself was coined in the first place. So it's not "appropriately" titled. It's "tautologically" titled. --76.224.69.130 (talk) 21:11, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
