[edit] COMBI
COMBI first was known in 1971 for the Boeing B-747-200 and was designated by the letter M ( B-747-200M. And unlike the other type of sister B-747 it had an upper deck Cargo door on the aft left side of the aircraft for loading and unloading the cargo pallets, and they were between seven to eleven pallets. And that cargo hold was dedicated mainly for pallets and no seats to be fitted there.
Now days, most of the Russian built passenger airplanes are used as COMBI and would seat the passengers at front and the bulky cargo at back, and in most cases the cargo can become loose and present danger to both passengers and the airplane itself, and such airplanes are banned from operating in European Union and North American Countries, however, the former USSR States and now CIS use these type of operation as the cargo would normally belong to the passengers.
